Easy Detox -Golden Tea

Everyone has their go to when they are feeling down and out. I have my teas. I find tea to be very refreshing any time of the day and love that now its available in so many different flavors. When I was in my detox phase, translation, I was ready to do anything and everything if it was good for my body! This tea has stuck with me and I love to enjoy a cup of it at least once a week, or every two days.

Coming to golden tea or turmeric tea, it is the solution to almost all of our beauty and health needs! Here are a few listed below:

  • Banishes acne and gives you clear skin.
  • Promotes healthy scalp
  • Helps control cholesterol
  • Regulates the insulin levels
  • Burns fat and helps with weight loss
  • Boosts immunity
  • Is Anti Inflammatory

That’s just to name a few, lets get on with the recipe:


  • 1 inch turmeric root or turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp parsley* (optional)
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • pinch of crushed black pepper
  • cloves
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 large cup of water
  • Some strands of Saffron(optional)
  • Honey as desired (optional)
  • Milk as desired (optional)


  1. Bring the water to a boil,add all the ingredients except for the milk and honey.
  2. Turn off the flame, cover with a lid and let it seep for 10 to 20 minutes.
  3. Once done add your sweetener and milk.
  4. Sit back with your favorite book enjoy the tea and relax.


*Parsley is great for detoxing the body, but should be avoided during pregnancy or if you are trying to conceive as it causes contractions.

You can increase or decrease the amount of turmeric to as you see fit and increase as you go, this tea also helps beat insomnia and promotes restful sleep.

Do You Need Supplements?

Walking down the aisle at your local supermarket or your local pharmacy, you will run into dozens of different bottles for pills and supplements. Not to mention all the advertisements and articles floating out there about what you need if you have a specific problem. You may consider buying those calcium capsules if you suffer from brittle nails, or vitamin E for the glowing skin, if you believe this we could convince you of various vitamins that will make you feel like you need them but you actually don’t.

You will argue with yourself, telling you that your body needs it, lets put the label of organic or Ayurveda on the bottle and your decision is firm, you are sure your body needs it, you are after all doing a favor to your body, whom you have mistreated for so long.

Well you realizing that you may have been mistreating your body is a step in the right direction, overloading it with supplements, not so much. To know which supplements your body needs, that’s the thing your doctor will help you figure out. We may be able to help you with diagnosing the symptoms,but you should never diagnose yourself, specially over the net. Google will make you think your dying.

That being said, if you don’t want to take a few tests, you can turn to organic and fresh vegetables and fruits for all your vitamin needs, the reasons being they will do you more good than bad, also you wont overdose yourself with the specific vitamins that you feel you need. Nature has provided us with an abundance of natural ways to get all our daily needs.

For example,

Cranberries can provide you with a good amount of vitamin C, Calcium, Iron and folic acid, they also help cleanse and detox the body.

Spinach will provide you with a good dose of vitamin A and vitamin B, along with Iron.

The major factor here is that food will always come first, taking a supplement is all up to you, taking a supplement isn’t necessarily bad, some people are dependent on them , others require them. As long as you have a healthy diet full of vegetables and fruits, proteins and fats, taking a supplement in addition is all up to you.
